The Groan of Glory

In this message, we walk through Romans 8:23–25 (KJV) and see that the believer’s groan is not the sound of defeat, but the cry of hope.

Paul shows us that even though we suffer in the present, we are not without promise. We have the firstfruits of the Spirit, the guarantee that what God started, He will finish. We groan now, but we groan with expectation. We wait for the adoption, the redemption of our body, and the full unveiling of the glory to come.

This sermon explores:

  • the reality of the inward groan
  • The Holy Spirit as God’s down payment
  • the hope of bodily redemption
  • why biblical hope is not wishful thinking, but confident expectation
  • How to wait with patience when life feels heavy
