Romans 8:37
More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Paul is not giving us a motivational slogan. He is teaching that true victory happens in the suffering, not merely after the suffering is over.

The key is found in the phrase:

“in all these things”
“through him”
“that loved us”

Suffering does not mean separation. Trust does not deny pain; trust denies the lie that pain means God has stopped loving you.

In this message, Pastor Josh Gaines breaks down Romans 8:37, Luke 22:42–43, and the Greek word hypernikōmen, showing that we are more than conquerors not through our own strength, but through Christ who loved us.

Jesus surrendered His will to the Father, and then He was strengthened for what He had to endure.

Victory comes when we surrender our will, align with the Father, and receive strength from Him.
